Such a nice comment from a customer on Tripadvisor:

“Awsome diving high standards of professionalism of staff”
Reviewed 29 May 2012
Diving with Rainbow instructors in Con Dao is itself great fun and safe experience. I have dived in more than 20 countries and the diverisity, color and shape of corals are as good as it can get. In my view as good as it is in known places such as in the Maldives. However, is not a place to see big games. The samall number of big fish and other animals are well compensated by the incredible beauty of the corals and the beaches around the diving sites.
Istructors make the diving fully safe, fun and relax. While in Can Dao I strongly advice to take a tour to see the Turtle nesting organized by National Park. Rainbow staff can assist you in contacting then

RAINBOW DIVERS RELOCATE IN SAIGON

After 4 years at their divecentre in Nguyen Dang Giai Street, An Phu, Rainbow Divers are moving on 1st June just 200 metres and relocating at Gaudi, 4 Thao Dien Street (opposite Buddha Bar). Jeremy Stein, owner + founder of Rainbow Divers explains the rationale for the move.
“Our current premises include 2 luxury classrooms, which have now become defunct with the popular preferred method of learning on-line. We have been working closely with our friends Fernando + Miriera at Gaudi and using their splendid pool facilities. It therefore made logical sense to move our Saigon operations centre here where we can now talk to people about diving in spacious surroundings and immediately offer a Try-Dive; followed by a drink or two and some excellent food. We’ll be open between 8.30am – 4.30pm, 7 days a week. Come and talk diving and maybe even try a dive, one on one with a professional Rainbow Instructor”
Rainbow Divers are the longest established PADI Divecentres in Vietnam with centres in Nha Trang, Whale Island, Con Dao + Phu Quoc. The Saigon centre offers pool training for all PADI Courses once the theory on-line has been completed and work closely with the International Schools. Part time Divemaster + Instructor courses available over 3-12 month periods.

Research on coral health in Nha Trang, Vietnam

Micaela, Kayrie and Jelena are measuring how much mucus the corals are producing from stressed and not stressed reefs. We have realized that corlas from the fish farms produce more mucus, and contain more bacteria (both good ones and bad ones) compared to the marine parks. The Vietnamese student Hanh studies the viruses ( a new field) and bacteria in coral mucus. We measure the volume of mucus produced over time. It may be a good indicator on coral health. Slimy indeed.
I hope I explained it well.
Very short: We measure slime production in corals (and yes  they produce lot s of it) over time. The same type of corals in stressed areas produce more slime and bacteria than the ones from the protected marine parks.Slime production over time seems to be a good measure of coral health. The same study will be performed 4 times a year to find seasonal differences.
